ABOUT: In late 2005, two geniuses set forth to create a new clothing line that would be based on creative freedom, stepping away from the repetitive, inartistic approach that many get-rich quick clothing lines have adopted. Along the way they slayed Vietnamese centipedes, smited the naysayers, and even found the time to play the occasional game of backgammon. The artistic endeavor of Marcail Madorum and philanthropic guidance of Charles Stella, eventually led to the creation of Carcharias Clothing.
Carcharias was a rowdy child at first, refusing its original surname and coming to terms with it’s creators' media of choice -Marcail with her background and experience in graphic/webdesign, and Charles' background in painting/illustration. But ultimately, a happy conclusion was found through Marcail’s design power and Charles’ monetary endowments. Big endowments. Just ask him. He’ll tell you all about his big endowments.....
There's no quiet, sunny Florida retirement planned in Carcharias’s future! Expansion is the name of the game. Shirts, stickers, hoodies, pogs (yes this includes slammers), thong underwear, corporate backing, sailboats, cannons, and hostile takeovers. Who ever knew two art-school drop outs would end up with an empire more omnipresent than the Britain of yesteryear? Watch out my friends, or Charcharias may take a bite out of you.

[28 Mar 2006|11:32pm] |
I have bigger and better things going on at the moment (I've even abandoned my personal livejournal). So for now, this place is just going to serve as an archive of sorts. If you're interested in my more important creative endeavors, please feel free to add my MySpace. I need to get the word out, as I'm going to be designing and selling my own t-shirts soonish, so hit that shit up and re-post those banners!

| One Photoshop trick coming up! |
[09 Dec 2005|04:58pm] |
I posted this over at immune the other day, and though you guys would appreciate this here. So.....here's a neat effect some crazy bastard and I came up with like four years ago. It really makes [almost] any photo awesome without doing much altering:
001. Duplicate the original layer 002. Set the new layer to "Overlay" 003. "Desaturate" the original layer 004. "Sharpen" the original layer 005. Ta-Da!

The Gameplan!:
001. Pick a band/musical artist that you plan on iconing. Please read through the comments and pick someone who hasn't been chosen. For example (so there's not any confusion): If someone choses to do Nine Inch Nails, then it's perfectly fine if someone wants to do just Trent Reznor. Make sense?
002. Copy and paste the following information, and post only that text in your comment (see my comment if you need an example):
004. The deadline to sign up is October 13th.
005. Post your icons with the subject of "The Disappearicons 50 Binge (part two)!" by October 15th in your journal of choice! Please make the entry public!
006. When you're finished, reply to your initial comment, and I'll add you to the forthcoming "Completed!" entry.
007. Feel free to promote this in your icon journals and so on, we want as many people as possible to participate!

Subject: 3/5 members of From Heaven With A Gun Title: Candids Used For: Entertainment value/The second photo I am turning on for my "texture" project tomorrow. Film Type: FujiFilm 400 Superia X-Tra Scan Quality: Okay. Those bright glares on their faces are from the scanner, so excuse those. Taken At: Same baseball field..... Lighting: Same deal as last time..... The Method To My Madness: N/A Notes: I absolutely love these shots. ( +003 )
And just in case, you missed the introductory post: I developed the film, and printed/developed each photo by hand. The actual size of the black and white's are 8"10". These and the last batch posted, were freshly printed earlier today :)

| PHOTOGRAPHY ENTRY 003 |
[04 Jun 2005|02:59am] |
Subject: From Heaven With A Gun Title: Candid/Miscalculated Shots Used For: Entertainment value Film Type: FujiFilm 400 Superia X-Tra Scan Quality: Decent, considering even 300dpi doesn't do colour photos justice. Taken At: Same baseball field. Lighting: Same deal. The Method To My Madness: N/A Notes: Hahaha..... ( +004 )

| PHOTOGRAPHY ENTRY 002 |
[03 Jun 2005|11:17pm] |
Subject: Joe, Tim, and Sudor (from From Heaven With A Gun) Title: 2005 Promotional Photos Used For: Chosen by the band, to be on the official website/MySpace/etc. Film Type: Kodak 400 TMax & FujiFilm 400 Superia X-Tra Scan Quality: The b&w's scanned a lot better than the coloured ones. Taken At: Baseball field, with a horizon line of trees and cars passing by in the background. Lighting: Pitch black, with no street lights close enough to have an effect on anything. The only reason I saw where I was shooting, was with the help of the AF-assist (preview light) on my camera. The Method To My Madness: Because it was pitch black, my subjects turned out nice and sharp with the background straight black. The light lines in the back are motion blurred cars, that were really far away. The car blurs are not in each shot, simply because they weren't any cars driving by for 2/5 members! Notes: It was hard to get a serious photo out of these guys. Especially, since most of the time I was guesstimating the photo. But overall, these turned out a lot better than I anticipated. And please remember, these were taken for a band, so they're not going to be oozing with creativeness. They're meant to be very simple. ( +003 )
