One Photoshop trick coming up!
I posted this over at [info]immune the other day, and though you guys would appreciate this here. So.....here's a neat effect some crazy bastard and I came up with like four years ago. It really makes [almost] any photo awesome without doing much altering:

          001. Duplicate the original layer
          002. Set the new layer to "Overlay"
          003. "Desaturate" the original layer
          004. "Sharpen" the original layer
          005. Ta-Da!

Ok, your icon is fabulous, and I must steal.....did you make that and is it take-able?

Aww, thank you :)

I was going to make it shareable, but it inspired me to make a new LJ layout.

But as it's you, and you've shared so many wonderful graphics, how can I refuse? ;)

If you like, take. I'm flattered you like it :)

Hee, that's pretty much my number one favourite technique that I use excessively. :)

I use the overlay technique a lot, but I still haven't figured out how to desaturate a layer >.<

Help please?

HAHA! I did that today. I was very bored so I put fake eyelashes on my bottom lashes. XD

this is very awesome. i feel really stupid though, cuz how do you get the duplicated image to overlay?

Ah, there's your problem, you don't duplicate the image, you duplicate the layer.
